SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Cinetopia is the Northwest’s only all Digital Super High Definition multiplex theater. As of March 31, 2006 Cinetopia has seven (7) new state of the art Christie 2k Super High Definition Digital Projectors.
Cinetopia now proudly showcases its Digital Light Projection systems (DLP) in all eight (8) of its auditoriums*. Cinetopia is the Northwest's only pure digital movie going environment (sound and picture) offering its viewing audience the following remarkable amenities:
1. Digital Super High Definition Capability on all 8 screens* - 2048 lines of progressive scan resolution which is greater than what HD TV or HD DVD offers.
2. Super High Definition Movies digitally projected on screens up to 50 feet in width.
3. Over 35 trillion color variations bringing remarkable vivid color to the screen.
4. 2000 to 1 Contrast Ratio.
5. A perfect blemish free presentation every show. Conventional 35 mm film rapidly deteriorates over time as dust, dirt, and scratches accumulate each time a movie is presented. Colors also fade as the film is exposed to heat from the projector. Because they come from computer content and not film, Digital movies will run blemish free indefinitely, retaining their remarkable life like image show after show.
6. Dolby Digital 3D technology. Several times a year feature films will be released in Dolby Digital 3D format, a new technology that allows viewers to watch 3D films with a life like virtual reality feel to them.
7. Perfect focus every show. Several human and film related factors regularly cause 35mm film to be out of focus. Digital projectors are focused by a computer and then locked in to perfect focus show after show.
8. Accurate and Consistent Light Distribution Across the Screen. Digital projectors and their computer components accurately and consistently distribute an even amount of light accross a movie screen whereas 35 mm film projectors often throw light unevenly across the screen. Moreover, 35mm projector bulbs fade as the bulbs wear out. This causes the images on the screen to look dim. In contrast a digital projector and its computer components will increase the power to a bulb and brighten the picture if it detects a bulb is wearing out.
* Most films will be presented in Digital Super High Definition. Check our website and newspaper listings to confirm which films are scheduled in Digital Super HD.
